1. What areas do you travel to for ceremonies?
I am based in North Yorkshire and love traveling to beautiful venues.. Whether you're planning a woodland wedding or a city celebration. Travel will be charged outside of a 30 mile radius of York City.
2. Can we include religious elements in a civil ceremony?
Absolutely, as a celebrant I have the freedom to include any hymns, prayers, or religious readings you hold dear. We can blend different traditions to ensure the ceremony fully respects your beliefs.
3. How long does a typical wedding ceremony last?
Most of my ceremonies last between 25 and 45 minutes, depending on the readings and rituals you choose. I ensure the pacing feels relaxed so you can soak in every beautiful moment.
4. Do you handle all the legal marriage paperwork?
I focus on the heart of your ceremony, so the legal registration is handled separately at a registry office. Think of me as the storyteller who makes your public exchange of vows truly unforgettable.
5. Can we write our own vows, and do you help with them?
I love it when couples write custom vows and I'm eager to help you articulate your feelings. I can offer helpful guides or refine your text to ensure it sounds authentic.
6. Are we able to meet you before booking our date?
I would love to invite you for a video call or a coffee to see if we click. It is so important that you feel completely comfortable and supported by me.
7. What happens if you are ill on the day of the wedding?
I am part of a wonderful network of professional UK celebrants who can step in if an emergency arises. Your script and plans will be safely shared so your day continues seamlessly.
8. Can you perform ceremonies outdoors or in unique venues?
Since my ceremonies aren't bound by the same laws as registrar weddings, we can celebrate anywhere from a garden to a clifftop. The world really is your oyster when it comes to your venue.
9. Do you offer a rehearsal before the big day?
Yes, I find a rehearsal helps calm those pre-wedding jitters and ensures everyone knows where to stand. We will walk through the flow of the ceremony so you feel confident.
10. How do you personalize the script for our story?
I spend time getting to know you both and the journey you have shared so far. I then weave your unique anecdotes and values into a script that is written entirely from scratch.
11. Can we include children or pets in the ceremony?
I love involving little ones and furry friends in the celebration. Whether they are ring bearers or simply standing by your side, they add a wonderful layer of joy.
12. What are your fees and what is included in the price?
My fees cover everything from our initial meetings and script writing to the ceremony delivery itself. I will provide a clear, all-inclusive quote after our first chat so there are no surprises.
13. Do you provide your own PA system and microphone?
Venues tend to have their own professional PA system to ensure every guest hears your vows clearly. This is especially helpful for outdoor settings or larger groups of family and friends.
14. How far in advance should we book your services?
Many couples book me 12 to 18 months in advance, especially for popular summer Saturdays. However, please do reach out even for shorter notice dates as I may still be available.
15. Can you incorporate symbolic rituals like handfasting?
I specialize in beautiful rituals like handfasting, sand ceremonies, or candle lighting. These symbolic acts are a wonderful way to visually represent your union and commitment to one another.
